Communications of the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers founded in 1983 has published activities of KIISE, special editions, and news related with KIISE to members. In particular, the special editions publish articles on contemporary issues written by the specialists of the corresponding fields in order to provide readers with the state of the art technologies.
Submission Guidelines
1. Articles to be contributed to Communications of the KIISE must be related to information science and applications thereof,
contribute to academic/industrial developments, and should be original in content. Published work (or work that is under consideration for publication) at other journals, whether
domestic or international, may not be submitted. Authors are expected to comply with research and publication guidelines such
as Ethical Standards for the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers and International Standards for Editors and Authors.
2. Articles shall be in compliance with the level of comprehension of the graduates majored in computer science or the related departments.
3. Contributors of articles are basically supposed to have the KIISE membership. However, exceptions are provided for co-authors to write papers with a KIISE member or for contributors invited by KIISE.
4. Articles submission is accepted throughout the year and is officially registered on the day arrived at the administrative office of KIISE. However, in the case of papers intended to be published in the special edition of Communications of the KIISE, they should be received in the administrative office at least two months before the predetermined date of publication of the Communications.
5. Articles are basically supposed to be written in Korean in the file formatted through Hangul, one of word processors.
6. Articles shall be formatted by 2-lines spacing and be around 15 pages including figures and tables thereof.
7. Author(s) of articles determined to be published shall submit additional forms provided by KIISE to present the biography written within 200 words and photograph(s).
8. Author(s) shall prepare the first page that includes title of paper, name, affiliation, types of membership, address, postal code, telephone, fax. Email address, the intended month of publication, and section of publication. The rest of contents of the article includes Table of Contents, Main Text, References, Appendices and so on.
9. The numbers of references associated with contents or descriptions in main text of each article shall be expressed in the main text of each article by following the order of an appearance of each citation of references that are to be also arranged thereby in the section of Reference correspondingly. When references are journals, each reference shall be sequentially described by the following order: Author(s), Title of Reference, Name, Volume, Issue No., Page(s), and Year of Publication. For the references of books or monographs, the Author, Title of Book(s) or Monograph(s), Page(s), Name of Publisher(s), and Year(s) of Publication shall be expressed in sequence.

10. The numbers corresponding to each chapter or section in an article shall be denoted by employing following expressions: 1., 1.1, 1.1.1; or A, 1), (A), (1) etc.
11. The size of Figures or Tables to be included in an article shall be double the size to be printed on to make them clear and distinct. Captions of Figures or Tables shall be accompanied by sequence number as Figure 1 or Table 1. The caption of a Figure shall be put in below the Figure and the caption of a Table shall be put in above the Table.
12. The publication of articles shall be determined at the editorial board. Authors of articles determined to be published are furnished with contribution fee.
13. The articles determined to be eligible for the publication by KIISE will be published and distributed by KIISE through online and offline services. Subscribers who don’t have KIISE membership may be charged for online subscription fees.
14. This guideline shall take effect as of August 14, 2020.
